Fun Preschool Activities to Do with Alligator Coloring Pages

Our coloring pages feature simple and engaging alligator illustrations that are easy for small hands to color. These activities not only provide hours of fun but also help in developing fine motor skills and creativity.

They are also fun for activities besides coloring. Following are a couple of ideas!

Alligator Adventure Storytime

Materials Needed:

  • Alligator coloring pages
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Large sheet of paper or a poster board
  • Glue or tape

Instructions:

  1. Color the Alligators: Start by having the children color the alligator pages. Encourage them to use different colors and be creative.
  2. Create a Story Map: Once the coloring is done, cut out the alligators and have the children help glue or tape them onto a large sheet of paper or poster board.
  3. Storytelling: Together, create a fun story about the alligators. Ask the children to name their alligators and devise a simple adventure. For example, the alligators might go on a treasure hunt, have a picnic, or explore a jungle.
  4. Share the Story: Once the story map is complete, gather everyone around and take turns telling parts of the story. This activity enhances creativity and improves storytelling and sequencing skills.

Alligator Matching Game

Materials Needed:

  • Alligator coloring pages
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Laminating sheets (optional)
  • A list of colors or patterns to match

Instructions:

  1. Color the Alligators: Have the children color the alligator pages, encouraging them to use various colors and patterns.
  2. Cut Out the Alligators: Once colored, cut out the alligator images.
  3. Create Pairs: Using the list of colors or patterns, create pairs of alligators with matching colors or designs. For example, two red alligators, two striped alligators, etc.
  4. Game Setup: If possible, laminate the cut-out alligators to make them more durable. Shuffle the alligator cards and spread them out face down on a table or floor.
  5. Play the Game: Children take turns flipping over two cards at a time, trying to find matching pairs. If a match is found, they get to keep the pair and take another turn. If not, they turn the cards back over, and the next child takes a turn. Continue until all pairs are found.

This matching game helps preschoolers improve their memory, concentration, and recognition of colors and patterns.
